Protecting the environment is one of our top priorities.
So we work hard to reduce our impact on the planet, by creating more and more sustainable, easily recyclable primary and secondary packaging. Because if we all do our bit, we can generate a positive synergy to fuel the recycling process.

Glass

Our commitment to the environment embraces all Zucchi products, including those supplied in glass bottles.
We use dark-coloured bottles guaranteed to contain at least 70% recycled glass to reduce the use of natural raw materials, including the quarrying of sand, and to increase energy saving in all phases of glass production.
What’s more, our sustainable extra virgin olive oils no longer have the traditional PVC cap cover.

GRASS PAPER LABELS

All labels of our Zucchi Sustainable products are made from grass paper, a special, unbleached paper which contains a high percentage of grass.
This means we use less cellulose to reduce the impact on trees and the energy required for production and transport, improving the carbon and water footprint.

R-PET

Our seed oil bottles are made using R-PET (recycled PET), a plastic obtained by recovering and recycling food-grade bottles in virgin PET. 2 litre bottles consist of 30% R-PET, and this rises to 50%, the highest content permitted by law, for the one litre size.
This enables us to reduce CO2 emissions and avoid placing new plastic in the environment.

SECONDARY PACKAGING

Our secondary packaging is made from 100% recycled, recyclable cardboard, with water-based UV inks, to reduce energy consumption during printing and to release fewer harmful substances into the environment; what’s more, printing in white means that no whiteners have to be added during subsequent recycling.
